THE STILLNESS TRUCK

Part of a semi-clandestine late-night takeover of a neighborhood by trucks, I made the antithesis to other more aggressive truck-based installations (eg The Smash Truck, The Stripper Truck.)

The STILLNESS TRUCK rewards, of course, stillness. The less movement detected in the truck, the more the projected images and sounds propagate. The slightest movement (someone climbing in on the back gate, someone rolling around on the grass-covered interior) chases away spectacle.

Visitors slowly grok the interaction and encourage each other to sit and watch and listen.
